How a floor gets wired

Five phases, in the order the building is actually built.

Plan review & takeoff

Pre-construction

We take off the riser and IDF/MDF plans provided by the engineer of record, confirm fiber and copper counts against unit count, and lock in the pull schedule with the GC before anything is pulled.

PH.1

Riser install

Core & shell

Vertical backbone — fiber and any building-wide coax trunk — goes in floor by floor as the riser shaft is accessible, ahead of the drywall crew.

PH.2

Rough-in

Before drywall

Cat6A and RG6 home-runs are pulled from each floor's IDF to every unit box, boxes set, and cable labeled per unit number — sequenced with electrical rough-in.

PH.3

Trim-in

Finish stage

Wall plates, patch panels, and IDF terminations go in per the GC's finish schedule. Every jack gets a permanent ID matching the as-built.

Test & activation

Pre-turnover

Every copper run is Fluke-certified, every fiber strand OTDR-tested, and results are handed over as a per-unit punch package with the as-builts.
